Hello, my name is John and thanks for stopping by GemRite. This is my corner of the web where I offer my personally cut gemstones. First, a little background information for you; I grew up in the piedmont region of South Carolina. At an early age, my rock hound father would take me out scavenging for rock specimens all over the area. I would have to say this started me on my way. In school I majored in geology all the while doing my on rock hound adventures. One day I took one of my finds to a friends shop to show her the specimen, and low and behold in the corner but a rudimentary faceting machine. She let me take it home and borrow it; I grabbed a book and cut away. The end result was amazing to me, but what fueled me even more was the feedback I received from a jeweler friend. He was amazed at the quality of the facets on my first ever cut. From there I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I started working for jewelers learning the trade, reading and taking classes all while continuing my faceting. I purchased state of the art equipment and met many friends and business associates from all over the world. Before I knew it, I was able to purchase rough from connections I made directly from the regions the mines were in. I have amassed a nice collection of rare and exotic gems as my unique and incredible finds continue to grow.
